The yearly men cook out event held by the Quota was on 23^rd October 2010 (Quota International, founded in 1919, is an international service organization that links members of all ages, occupations, and nationalities in a worldwide network of service and friendship) . This event is a fundraising and according to the Quota International of Suriname focus on projects such as the Kennedy Foundation in Suriname, an institute for hearing impaired children in Suriname.

This encouraged SIB Signs & Designs to participate in this special event. Every year a special budget is available for projects that support the sustainability of life. With these projects we would like to help others in need.

In one week, the SIB-bers worked intensively. Even the SIB-bers families participated by helping with the preparations of the menu. The names of the dishes on the menu were associated with the products that we offered (link to menu photo 1 en 2). In total we sold about 100 – 250 of each dish.

The SIB-men that participated as cooks and assistant cooks were highly motivated to present that their talents were beyond and even included cooking skills. Together as a team they managed to prepare, cook and sell all the dishes. After all was sold out, they even gave some dance acts to show their gratitude and happiness to the guests (foto’s waar Marciano danst).
